Bonus Materials (New York City. Before Beginning)

Two days before of official trip starting date I visited New York City and have a lot of pictures.

I've been in NYC multiple times and mostly pictured things that I haven't noticed before or that somehow amaze me every time I'm there.

Started with Brooklyn.
regular Brooklyn Street

Apartment building with stores on the first floor

Town-homes - do not want to live there

Free space - parking lot

Cars are parked everywhere. Have to search long time for a free spot.

Looks like store is just out of business

Streets are pretty clean

I'm not used to live in cities like this and everything looks weird, even if for somebody it is OK

Nice business building on a corner. A lot of people on bikes, definitely easier to get parking spot.

Some on going construction. Looks like the city is not very busy at Friday's noon.

Another town-home I do not want to live in. No grass, no place to play for kids.

When you open windows at night you can hear ALL neighbors from surrounding houses.

Is it an old phone?

Going closer to Subway. Getting parking spot here is absolutely impossible.

Some buildings look very nice, but remind me castles.

But neighboring houses might be very crappy.

Subway station

Street near Subway station

View from the station. Very nice.

Railways

Station looks very good. Fortunately there is not +45 degrees or -45 degrees. Can't imagine how people wait trains for 15-20 minutes in winter time.

Another side of the street

All houses around marked by graffity

These empty spaces between cars are places forbidden to park

Another street view. Much less trees.

Another subway line right underneath of us.

Train is coming.

People there live like in a prison.

A student

Train arrived.

Here I'm in a train. Making pictures from a dirty window with lower quality.

Bigger apartment buildings

How can you live in that city? Can't park, can't stop, can't drive. Just stay in traffic.

Industrial area

Almost all streets - one way.

All roofs in graffiti too

Some roofs have multiple antennas. Why they can't have one big for everybody? Are they trying to be green at all?

That building probably was supposed to be nice.

People live n these houses. Believe me, I've seen them.

Looks like very interesting church building in the end of the street.

No central air conditioners. Everybody survives by themselves.

I assume that is Iconic American city view. How people can live so close to each other?

The charch

"moos e varey" - does anybody know what it means?

Subway cross-roads.
Subway goes over Brooklyn Bridge

NYC Side

Some people crossing bridge walking or biking

Apartment buildings. Brrr. Do not want to live there.

NYC Subway. Old. No air-conditioners. Killing heat. Horrible conditions.

Big station. Several railways.

Station level is curved. How designers did that?

Fortunately there are some escalators. If you die from heat you can be easily transported to the ground level.

People are waiting for train.

Station from the above

On the top of the station

Here is a concert to collect some money.

Empire State Building

Broadway

Broadway is always crouded

Heart of NYC. Entrance to Macy's

Building newest NYC adventure - Sky-walk

Sky-walk graffity

Sculpture of what?

Very nice replica

Streets look pretty from the Sky-walk

From there you can observe architecture

Pieces of art

All street views look same.

It's supposed to mean something.

Colin Powell

Decorated Garage wall

From another side

Another Set of buildings

Some old stile buildings are wonderfull
Here is an example of how cars are parked in NYC

View on Sky-walk. It was build on the base of old subway line or rail road line, but looks very fresh.

Variety of different stiles is amazing

Arts, which did not make to private collectors, stopped here.

Hudson river from Sky-Walk

Probably here was old pier

Multiple different views. I guess it is some kind of sport building.

Street repair

Just street from the above

Pan. I've thought he has normal hands.

Another building reconstruction

Do not swim in the fountain

New Jersey side of Hudson river

Helicopter landing on the top of a building ("W")

City line

View to the Freedom Tower

I guess that is a ventilation building and we are above a tunnel

West side of the downtown

River is full of cruise ships and boats

Very nice walk along the Hudson river. It is made like a park.

Ships are parking nearby

Place for kids to play

Freedom Tower is still in construction stage

Boardwalk

Waves are pretty heavy for such a small boat

Parking and camping

Another side of the river

First look at Statue of Liberty

Following boardwalk

How that small building has survived between all these sky-scrapers?

Cull architecture

$20 millions dollar yacht.

Ellis Island

Sailors are still living in our modern world

Want to do a cruise around NYC some day too.

Little bay

New Entrance

Little Ferry boat

Acorns in the center of the big city

Just different people

Old downtown buildings

Newest buildings

Some nice ancient addition to the modern art

Boardwalk
Park is full of art

and music

Freedom Tower is visible almost from everywhere

Southern Manhattan

Every street pointed to the high tower

Just a street

Brooklyn bridge

City of Brooklyn

Net Set of pictures is made from a board of Staten Island Ferry boat.

That is free to tide. Why do not use the advantage.

Ferry Docks

Governors Island National Monument

Rescue Helicopter is flying by.

View back to southern Manhattan

Verrazano Bridge

Ship on Hudson river

Not sure what it is. Probably it is view to Coney Island

Staten Island pier

Docks are accepting our ferry boat.

Manhattan from the Staten Island

Lighthouse on New Jersey side

People can enjoy river even in Big Apple
Statue of Liberty on Liberty island
We are going back to NYC and another ferry boat goes to Staten Island
Statue of Liberty closer look

Manhattan again

Southern Manhattan - closer look

Top of the Freedom Tower

Very nice architecture

Back to Manhattan

Urban art
Another urban art

Trinity Church

City Jungles

Nice old Greek school of architecture inside of modern megapolis
Good spot to catch whole tower. It looks like area of upper floors is smaller than down floors.
Pretty girls from a wedding party or some kind of celebration

Back to Brooklyn

Extremely funny sign. It says (in Russian): "We speak Chinese"

Following set of pictures was taken on the next day in Mid-Town Manhattan

"Book of Mormons" - sometimes have to see it.

At the early morning taxis already prepared

Another Great show

Cozy entrance to a little bar
It is so early, but heavy drinkers are already full

Getting Closer to the Time Square

Nothing unusual yet

Than closer than more interesting

Getting amazed

Adds are everywhere

Hershey chocolate store

M&M is trying to compete with Hershey

Now it is Funniest Musical

I guess there is a helicopter on the top of that building.

Time Square early morning. Not so many people, but alive 24x7

Add caption

The main stage

Has to be clean and shiny.

People enjoying quite hours

Disney Store

McDonalds and many adds of Broadway shows

Adds, Adds, Adds...

Clock tower?

Pictures are changing every second.

Disney cartoons are attracting kids.

Live movies on gigantic screens all at once

You fill like in the box of Adds. They are everywhere and you can't hide.

Looks like very old witch.

Views are changing momentarily  and I do not remember if I already pictured that building.

Going away from Time Square

Quality of advertisements drops

But they are still around

Trash from previous night is not collected yet. At least people tried to put it in the trash can.

But here trash is floating around.

Is that Rockefeller center?

Radio City. Right nearby of NYC Microsoft office.

Later that day street was closed for traffic and center of the city become a huge fairground.

People were kings of the street for whole day.

Entrance to Microsoft office building.

Radio City street view

Trash cans can't survive and serve the huge crowd.

Couldn't imagine such amount of trash on NYC streets.

Yummy

Thanks for delicious food

That also is supposed to be very delicious

Almost all food left

Pretzels & hotdogs

Looks like people came here only to eat.

Replica of National Monument

Street band

Garbage collector?

Again Food food food

South American band

Way back goes again nearby of Time Square

This time here is crowded as in the hell

Pretty sleeves

Goodbye New York
